Warrior oral interp team members saw much successes at their first major contest of the season as they earned the Class AA Sweepstakes Award at the Rough Rider Round-up Saturday at Roosevelt High School.
At the event, seniors Maddy Morgan and Reanna Rohrer took first place in the varsity Duo competition. Junior Blake Anderson took first place in varsity Storytelling and third place in varsity Serious Interp. Sophomore Sabina Kaiser won third in varsity Poetry, and junior April Moen placed fourth in varsity Non-Original Oratory.
Coach Michelle McIntyre said she was pleased with the results.
“Our team started off really strong at the first tournament of the year,” McIntyre said. “We are going to build on that success and add even more new selections this week.”
In novice competition for first-year interp students, sophomore Rahele Megosha took first in Serious and third in Storytelling and freshman Kalli Barnhardt second in Humor. Freshman Litiana Soukkeo Johnson and Pranita Chhetri also won an honorable mention in novice Duo.
