Warriors take fourth at Harrisburg Invite

The Warrior varsity boys golf team finished fourth with 325 total strokes in the Harrisburg Invitational Golf Tournament Aug. 29 at Spring Creek Golf Course.
Lincoln took first with 300 total stokes, followed by Harrisburg with 303 and Watertown with 306. The Warriors finished ahead of Roosevelt by eight strokes.
Individually, sophomore Jack Kray finished tied for second with a 73, just one stroke behind medalist sophomore Gavin Hatch of Harrisburg.
Other WHS place winners included sophomore Tyler Mashek tied for 21st with an 82, junior Brady Christoffels 23rd with an 83 and freshman Lake Hamilton tied for 27th with an 87.
Junior Max Woods thought the tournament went well.
“Overall, we had individual players improve their scores and as a team we got better,” Woods said.
In JV action, WHS also took fourth with a 406. Junior Garret Winblade paced the JV team with an 89.
The varsity will next play in the Yankton Invitational Sept. 7 at Fox Run Golf Course.
